Outsource to Us were approached by Tania Budd founder of Story Cloth Connection to create a look and feel for her new corporate identity. From the very first meeting it was obvious that our graphic designer Alison Parks had an immediate understanding of Tania’s inspiration, due to their common background in the fine arts, and instantly a strong connection was formed between client and designer.

During the initial brief the client explained the process and techniques involved in the creation of a Story Cloth, and spoke about the workshops that she had run in the past. Our designer wanted to create a brand that reflected the earthiness and organic nature of the Cloths that results from this beautiful technique of making marks on the canvas.

One of the inspirational images the client showed the designer during the meeting was a cross section of a tree trunk showing the tree rings within. This image is somewhat symbolic of the way the story cloth begins… starting in the centre and the marks radiate out from there, representing the passage of time.

It was felt that due to the artistic nature of the client that the the design concept should be presented in the form of a mood board. Colours and typography were selected and communicated in a thought provoking way, which then lead to the completed brand identity.

It’s as if you got in to my mind and knew exactly what I wanted

From the finished corporate identity, we went to design a range of promotional materials such as a business card and a DL flyer. We are currently in the process of setting up some workshop marketing templates and collaborating with Tania in planning her social media strategy.GoodFoodHero-MoodBoard
