MINDFULNESS AND PRODUCTIVE WELLNESS in AUSTRALIAN business is dojo’s business
With an increasing number Australian executives spending more than 12 hours at work every day, leading business and productive wellness experts, Dojo Wellness Experience, has created a world-first. The goal is to reinvigorate creativity, inventiveness and rejuvenation in Australian business with a more holistic and mindful approach to offsite training & workshops, ensuring quantifiable business outcomes and a more dynamic way of creative thinking.
Australian organisations are hungry for innovative ways to beat the competition and corporate Australia must become leaders in their thinking and approach to doing business. They need more dynamic and innovative ways to reinvigorate their staff, minus the paintball or team golf days. Dojo has reinvented facilitated workshops by encouraging inspired business thinking through the use of stillness and mindfulness – a path to create better business leaders and better business thinkers.
Rather than training already smart people, Dojo specialises in deepening their sense of purpose, expanding their capability to navigate difficulty and complexity, and at the same time, enriching their resilience. It is through the dynamic and powerful holistic approaches of meditation and yoga, Dojo sets out to nurture the full potential of each participant by creating an organic environment that allows creative thought to surface and thrive.
The unique Dojo experience is delivered in an inner city Spa and Retreat, complete with gymnasium, indoor pool, steam room, bathhouse and massage – all facilities surrounding the epicentre which is the Dojo room where the meetings take place.
The ‘business offsite’ takes on a whole new meaning when? participants are taken on a spiritual journey which nurtures calmness and is a clear space that prompts creative thought. The traditional definition of a business meeting is replaced with meaningful and inspirational sessions, that utilise stillness to encourage original and inspired thinking and promote wellness activities to enhance each participant’s imagination, connectedness and ability to go beyond their current thinking.
Dojo’s Trifecta in creating and sustaining inspired thinking:
- Break with Convention. Business clothes are replaced with a T-shirt and loose fitting pants where everyone is equal. Qi Gong begins the day which is a body movement class designed to create a smooth flow of Qi within the body.
- Engage Imagination. Dojo uses the art of storytelling and then guided Mindful Meditation to tap into one’s powers of visualisation and concentration allowing participants to see things differently.
- Creative Inspired Thinking. Through the power of the ‘collective mind’, inventiveness and creativity deliver new thinking, producing new possibilities and potential outcomes.
According to Dojo founder, Gino De Pasquale, the premise for Dojo is simple – combining business and stillness to create fruitful and long lasting business results.
“The chaos of the corporate world from the confusion, exhaustion, anxiety to inflated egos, is not a healthy breeding ground for corporates to make qualified, well informed and meaningful decisions about their brands, or their companies future growth, prosperity and development,” he said.
“At Dojo, we inspire participants to tap into their imagination and give them the platform to practice inspired creative thinking.
“Dojo not only teaches stillness but also participants will learn how to apply the process to support more positive business outcomes on a daily basis. These fresh skills will help foster a more genuine and more successful business strategy.”
“Executives are so time poor so it is important to create an organic platform which offers clients the opportunity to spend time with their partners, stakeholders and colleagues to work together for a common, holistic goal. The formula of both relationship and business building is the top priority.
“Outsmarting competition is ever-increasingly hard to achieve, so that intrinsic creative edge, with the addition of innovative management practises are what’s needed. That is when Dojo steps in.”
In the US, utilising mindfulness in business is becoming a growing practise. Companies such as Google, Target, Facebook and Ford have proactively injected mindfulness programs into their business repertoire and they have reaped the rewards.
According to Dojo Managing Director, Craig Levitt, business mindfulness is not a hippy or ‘pie in the sky’ approach with a suite of engaging words that have no consequences or outcomes.
“It is simply the opposite. If we look at the results from the US on the introduction and integration of Mindfulness, Meditation and Wellness there is a plethora of significant outcomes including productivity, performance and increase in employee retention,” he said.
“The iOpener Institute reported when employees are happier, there was a 46% reduction of employee turnover, 19% reduction in cost of sick leave, and a 12% increase in performance and productivity.
“On a local level, Dojo has been inundated with positive feedback including with 100% of participants being inspired in creative thinking and 66% yearning to solve old problems in new ways, seeing their business in a new light, enhancing team cohesiveness to benefit the business and creating a collaborative mindset within the group.
“Dojo can be used for Project and Sales Collaboration, Team Performance and Productivity, Idea Generation or Mindfulness practise.
“The beauty and ingenuity of Dojo is that clients can either bring in a pre-determined project or desired outcome such as improving teamwork or idea generation or we can deliver an introduction to the Dojo Mindfulness Program.
“Once the offsite is over, that does not mean Dojo switches off from the client. Ongoing support plays a fundamental role over the three months after the initial session. A second session is highly recommended for participants to consolidate new practises.”
Dojo is set to redefine how Australian businesses can transcend to the next level by invigorating the creativity, uniqueness and productivity of the executives that lead them.
