Welcome to the Marketing Mix. In this issue, we’re looking at five easy ways to give your LinkedIn profile the facelift it needs. As we are getting closer to the new year, now is the right time to review your profile and see how others are seeing you.
📱 Update your contact details. Simple, yet often forgotten. You want to include your phone number and email address so that potential clients can move from a casual conversation online to a new lead for your business.
⌨️ Include keywords in your about section. Your LinkedIn profile is indexed by Google, so try working in natural-sounding keywords into this section. Make sure you use the correct terminology, not just the industry acronyms or abbreviations. Showcase your capabilities, expertise and the problems you have solved for your existing clients.
📣 Give skill endorsements to receive endorsements. Your skills and endorsements contribute to your SEO and how your profile is found online. Select the top three skills that best define how you can help your clients and ask for endorsements. Pro-tip, people are more likely to endorse you if you have endorsed them.
🎨 Design a cover banner that reflects your brand. This is one of the first things a potential client will see – it needs to stand out. It should support your story, branding and positioning. You can use your business branding, or you can choose a photograph that tells a story.
📝 Include certifications, case studies and publications. These should complement the skills that you have already highlighted on your profile and reinforce the results you will drive for your clients.
