4 Ways to Share Links on Instagram

Looking for ways to drive more traffic to your website? Outsource2Us shares 4 ways to add clickable links on Instagram

In our previous blog Using Instagram to Grow Your Business, we discussed the importance of understanding your target audience and how to connect with them – one of these ways being through links.

On Instagram, the number of places you can share clickable links is highly limited compared to other social media platforms. This means you need to be more strategic and creative about how you use your links and where you can share them to get the most out of them.

In this blog, we’ll share four ways to share links on Instagram and drive traffic to your website:

1. Add a link to your Instagram bio

One of the few places and the most extensively used places where you can share a clickable Instagram link is in your Instagram bio. Anyone can do this, and it’s super easy to do so!

You can only add one clickable link in your Instagram bio (unless you use websites like https://linktr.ee/), so you need to think about which is the most important to start conversations or drive traffic back to your site. A tip – add ‘click the link in my bio’ to each post and change the link in your bio to match your recent post! You can change your clickable Instagram link in your profile as many times as you want.

2. Add swipe up links to your Instagram stories

Instagram stories have changed the way people engage with brands, with 1 in 4 Gen Z and Millennials actively seeking stories of products and services they are considering purchasing. If you have over 10, 000 followers or you have a verified account (blue tick), you have an incredibly effective tool at your disposal, the swipe up link on Instagram Stories. This link allows you to post exciting content about a new product, service or event and then encourage users to ‘swipe up’ for details.

3. Tell people to send you a DM

Another easy way to share your clickable links is by asking people to send you a direct message if they want the link to your new product or call to action. This is a great way to connect with your followers privately, start a conversation and answer any other questions they might have! Simply write in the caption of your post ‘message us for the link!’ It’s that easy!

4. Share short links in your Captions

Although you can’t include clickable links in your captions of normal Instagram posts, you can still use them to get your followers’ attention. Use a link-shortening service like Bitly so the link is easy for the users to remember. You can even customise the link for your brand and content!
